In 2026 we are launching the inaugural New Zealand Effective Consequence Management (ECM®) Program in Wellington. The ECM program is a leading-edge capability-building experience designed to equip senior leaders with the skills needed to navigate complex and high-impact events.

The ECM is designed and delivered by Barrington Centre, one of Australia’s most respected crisis and consequence-management advisory Organisations. The ECM® content and delivery has evolved through collaboration with Emergency and Disaster Management Leaders in Australia, New Zealand and Internationally. The 2026 NZ ECM® has been tailored specifically to the NZ environment through collaboration with a diverse array of Agencies, Organisations and NGO’s in NZ.

The ECM program is a 3 day in-person interactive program. Focusing on strategic decision-making during intense high risk situations, understanding cascading and compounding consequences, and leading Organisations through uncertainty. The principles and frameworks covered in the program can be extrapolated to ‘business as usual’ principles for Organisations. Participants explore real-world scenarios; learn contemporary consequence-management methodologies; and gain insights into how crises and disruptions unfold internally within a business; across systems, communities, and critical infrastructure.

Audience: Executives, Board members; Senior operational leaders and accelerated growth for high potential individuals, across Private Sector operators; Local Government agencies; State and Territory government agencies; the New Zealand Federal Government and critical infrastructure suppliers.
